  2. And here is my review for the new WATCH RWISA WRITE Anthology Volume 1:
    5 stars
This book is a compilation of incredible short stories from members of the Rave Writers International Society of Authors. From the first story, “Night Traipsing” by Beem Weeks to the final piece, “Words” by Yvette Calleiro, across the board, the writing is engaging, error free and compelling. I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. I loved the poetry from D.L. Finn, the personal story from Gwen Plano and the chilling “Denton’s Debby Dolls” by Laura Libricz. There are stories that address relevant social issues such as “Does My Life Matter” and “Prison Wives” by Nonnie Jules. There is historical fiction by Ron Yates and Marcha Fox. There are thrillers and fantasy, and even a little bit of romance. Regardless of a preferred genre of writing, everyone will find something in this eclectic collection of short stories from these hard-working authors! If you are a fan of really good writing, this book is for you!

  3. Here is one of the reviews that Amazon has put a hold on:
Visitors – A Short Story Mystery by W.J. Scott
    5 stars
I loved, loved, loved this short story! Two boys sent away by their sickly mom to live with an eccentric aunt find more than just a strange place where people don’t seem to age and everything appears frozen in time. Being a curious young man, Brody is determined to find the source of the strange lights he sees from the bedroom window at night, and solve the mystery of an aged woman and dog who are not aged at all, but instead youthful and full of energy. Is it possibly that if he can solve the mystery, they can find help for their dying mother? I won’t give the story ending away with a spoiler, but I will say it had a super satisfying ending!

But, you can find my reviews for Caste Metal by Fiza Pathan, Megamax by Rhani D’Chae, Red Eyes in the Darkness by D.L. Finn, and Slimmer by Wendy Scott on Amazon!

I appreciate your honest review. I was never into writing short stories and this is my first fiction. I think I want to turn it into a full novel. That way it will address all the points you made which I do agree with. Thank you balrrop2013 for taking the time to read it.

  12. I just finished reading The Virgin Cat: A Feline Fantasy, by Clive Lilwall. Told in the first person from the cat’s point of view, I was captivated. Happy tells his life story, what he loves, what he fears, why he does what he does and he beautifully describes his relationships with humans and other critters, the good times and the bad. This charming feline character interjects facts about cats, including some history, points out widespread myths. He is an educator, an autobiographer and even a philosopher. From his birth to his death, Happy’s story is an entertaining read that will take you through a gamut of emotions, particularly if you’ve ever been owned by a cat. I found the book delightful!
